Rachel Pittman is an doctoral candidate at Georgia State University in Atlanta, where she teaches College Composition. A Georgia native, she lived in Southwest Louisiana for 3 years, where she earned her MFA in Poetry at McNeese State University in 2023. She has served as Poetry Editor for the McNeese Review. She holds a B.A. in English and Creative Writing from Georgia Southern University.

Her writing has appeared in multiple venues, including Whale Road Review, Gingerbread House Magazine, and Stillpoint Literary Magazine. In 2020 she was honored with the John Wood award for Poetry by McNeese's MFA program. In 2022 she received the Moondancer fellowship awarded by the Writer's Colony at Dairy Hollow.
